Nissan 200sx CA20DET Tuned

I know I know I basically forgot to update the build of my engine on this blog. But im posting the final result of my CA20DET build. Its all went together without a problem it started without a hitch after I had setup the new 750cc injectors and Z32 AFM on the Apexi PowerFC ECU. We did however noticed it didn't like to idle at all. So we checked the ignition timing which confirmed our suspicions that it was running way out of the standard 15degress BTDC. It proved to be quite difficult to setup the cams due to using an exhaust cam on the inlet side of the engine. The reason i used the exhaust cam was because it had slighlty higher lift and duration.

Once the timing was sorted I had to run the engine in which returned a few niggles the main one being a leaky water pump gasket. This was replaced and all was fine. The day came round to getting the car tuned. I decided to use Greg at ProTuner, due to alot of recommendations. I must say that Greg knows his stuff and the recommendations where fully justified. The engine made 344bhp and pretty much the same amount of torque. The only thing that was holding me back making a bit more power are the cams. With a good cam set-up it was estimated the engine would make about 350bhp with the Garrett T2871r .64ar turbo.

After the tuning it was time to actually drive the thing! I have done a couple of days at Norfolk Arena which where a blast. The car didn't miss a beat apart from blowing a boost pipe and overheating the power steering.

The Dyno readings indicate how great the car is. I wonder if I could also get to try a Nissan 200sx...

Nissan 200sx is a good sporty car. The image you have attached is also cool. We are looking forward to it and want to know more about its technical specifications and build?

I think, this car looks like sport cars. It's really a great car. Which has been more advantage and strong performance. Nissan is the world's top most brand and the models of this company's are very attractive and fully high features. Thanks for sharing this.

What hardware did you use on the bottom end? Which Crank did you end up going with? Rods? Pistons? What timing belt did you use?
I've heard there are some mods that need to be made to the rods and pistons, what mods did you have to make?

I am going to be building one of these over the summer and I would really like to know what mods I'll be coming up.
Thanks.

I think this car has sporty enough interior and has a strong performance and great reputation in the automobile industry.

Hi, that's a nice power figure for a CA. Do you have any more info on your CA20DET build? I have one myself in an S12 Gazelle (Silvia) making about 270rwhp using the stock S12 CA20E block & rods, S13 CA18DET head & a TD05-16G.

I don't want to say anything about tuning and all other things.I only say Nisssan is very very serious about safety.I used to own a Nisaan in the past and I can tell you that this car makes you feel extremely safe when you driving it.
