Lexus refreshes IS range

Lexus is to announce a host of changes to its IS range at the Frankfurt motor show this week.

These revisions include a new F-Sport package for the IS 250 and 220d, as well as the addition of a limited-slip differential to the high-performance IS-F.

Although the engine and transmission of the IS-F are unchanged, Lexus claims that adding the new differential makes the car two seconds a lap quicker around the Fuji International Speedway, where its test drivers put it through its paces.

The new differential works by sending power to the rear wheel with the most grip, and Lexus says it gives the car much more traction as well as improving its stability in high-speed corners.

Nissan GT R SpecM Readies To Run The Ring

Nissan's GT-R test team has shown up at the 'Ring with a lightly camouflaged prototype that appears to be the upcoming SpecM edition. The SpecM has been dubbed as the most gentlemanly version of the GT-R, with a more compliant suspension set-up and more sumptuous interior tailoring. Early reports tell us that SpecM GT-Rs can be highly personalized with specially-hued leathers and paint options. The graphic camo on the front and rear bumpers appears to hide some subtle visual revisions to the standard GT-R.

The GT-R SpecM is pegged for a debut at this Fall's Tokyo Motor Show.

Toyota Auris HSD Concept 1 step away from reality

The Toyota Auris was a good success both in Japan and in Europe and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if Toyota is planning to propose a little facelift to their Auris as well as an Hybrid version in addition to the actual line-up.

And to be very honest with you, this Auris HSD Concept, an Hybrid vehicle with its Solar panel sky roof (great idea by the way), is just a step away from the final production.

The Auris HSD Concept, will be powered by a 1.8 Liter four-cylinder engine plugged with Toyota’s state of the art Hybrid Synergy Drive technology.

Toyota 2JZ-GTE

2jz-gte.jpg

The 2JZ-GTE is an inline-layout, six-cylinder, belt-driven dual-overhead camshaft, air-intercooled, twin-turbocharged, cast-iron engine designed and manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation that was produced from 1991 until 2002 in Japan. Development and evolution of the engine was, principally, a response to Nissan's relatively new and then-successful RB26DETT engine which had achieved palpable success in FIA Group A and Group N touring car championships, worldwide. Final development of the 2JZ-GTE was outsourced to German engineering firm Johann A. Krause Maschinenfabrik GmbH for refinement to meet production car homogolation requirements set forth by the former All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship.

Chipmunks Store Stolen Dog Food In Datsun 240Z

Anyone stashing a vintage car has a common fear — rodents. They can quickly take cars from "in-need-of-plates" to "in-need-of-complete-teardown." Luckily, this Datsun 240Z owner discovers chipmunks didn't destroy anything, just used his exhaust as storage for pilfered dog food.

Mazda MX 5 Superlight Concept only 995kg

Mazda_MX-5_Superlight_1.jpg

So Mazda decided to blow our minds by transforming the fun Mazda Miata into an awesome, purpose-built, speedster in the form of the MX-5 Superlight Concept. It'll debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and when it does, it'll show off one of the purest interpretations of the car in the nameplate's history. What takes the Superlight from "pretty neat" to "spectacularly unbelievable" is the detailing. Instead of just taking bits off, it's what Mazda added in terms of attention to detail which makes it so cool. The roll hoops have integrated high mount brake lights. The carbon fiber dash elements hold real toggle switches — even the shift knob's been sliced down to reduce weight but boasts better styling. Forget the other supercars debuting at Frankfurt, we want the Miata. Be sure to click read more to see the bare specs:

Awesome touge drift

Here is a video of some crazy Japanese people touge drifting. I like at the very beginning where the armco has been dented all the way up. looks like there were many failed attempts.

Lexus LF Ch Concept to premiere in Frankfurt this month

Lexus is aiming at the likes of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz in the luxury compact segment by teasing a LF-Ch concept set to make an appearance in Frankfurt on September 15th.

The whole compact luxury car tease comes after accusations from bloggers and news makers alike of Lexus losing its appeal among younger buyers (or more harshly, becoming the Japanese version of Buick). The brand that once symbolized high performance sedans has fallen flat with the IS-F sports sedan and is desperately looking for something within the price reach of a younger, poorer, and more environmentally conscious driver.

The LF-Ch emphasizes Toyota’s hybrid and Hybrid Synergy Drive technologies and is touted as possibly becoming an electric-only 5-door premium compact for the Lexus brand.

Drift Twinning to the extreme

An awseome video of a load of drift cars in japan hitting the track all at once. It looks crazy with some extreme angles on the cars entering the bottom corner.
